Truly collaborative, participating organisations such as the Local Enterprise Company, Tourist Board and Local Authorities each contribute events information to a central database. These events are published automatically on the contributor’s web site and on any centralised events diary such as a related community site. Additionally, contributors can “flag” entries for publication on any or all-collaborating partners’ web sites.
Administrators within partner organisations retain editorial veto over content published to their own sites, and have access to tools allowing contact with the information owner should there be any concern over content or inclusion.
Private individuals, too, can input information via community sites and can request publication on any partner’s web site. As well as determining the range of sites information is published on, users can select the period during which the event should be advertised, and can include email links and shortcuts to the event web site.
